Teaching the Big Truths of the Bible to Little Hearts
When I worked as a children’s ministry coordinator at my local church, our director and I were on the hunt for Gospel-centered lessons for our 1–3-year-old classrooms. We wanted to give our littlest learners something deeper than childcare and snack time (while valuable)—we wanted them to also begin learning the big truths of our faith.
As our toddlers were learning to speak, play, and explore the world, we wanted to fill their minds with the basics of who God is—what the Bible is, what prayer means, who Jesus is, and how the Holy Spirit helps us.
After searching and coming up short, we decided I would write our own lessons. What started as a few Sunday school units eventually became a full year of lessons—50 in total—one for every Sunday of the year (except Mother’s and Father’s Day).
Now, fast forward a few years. I’m a stay-at-home mom to three little ones (ages 6 months, 2, and 4), and we still use these same lessons in our home each week. It’s been so special to watch my children grow in their understanding of God’s Word—right from the kitchen table. The lessons are flexible enough to work at home or in church, and simple enough that both toddlers and preschoolers can engage and participate.

Who Is This Bible Curriculum For?
This toddler Bible curriculum was created with flexibility in mind. It’s ideal for:

- Children’s ministry leaders
Whether you’re teaching at home, in a church nursery, or a preschool setting, the Big Truths lessons help toddlers understand who God is and how much He loves them—one week or day at a time.
Why I Love Using It at Home
Every week, my kids and I gather for our “Bible time.” We sing, read, color, and talk about the truth we’re learning. My 4-year-old might color while my 2-year-old stirs rice in a sensory bin, but they’re both hearing and repeating words like “God made me,” “Jesus loves me,” and “I can pray to God.”
Those small moments matter. And that’s exactly why I created Big Truths—to help parents and teachers fill everyday moments with Gospel-centered truth for even the littlest hearts.
