Between shopping, decorating, and trying to keep little hands out of the cookie dough (we’ve gotta at least bake some before it’s all eaten up), it’s easy to lose sight of why we celebrate in the first place.
That’s exactly why I created the Advent Curriculum for Toddlers — a simple, meaningful way to help your little ones (ages 1–4) learn the true meaning of Christmas. These lessons make it easy to slow down, open God’s Word, and talk about what Christmas is really about: Jesus.
What’s Included in the Toddler Advent Curriculum
This Christian Christmas curriculum for toddlers includes four complete Bible lessons — one for each week of Advent:
Lesson 1: Hope – Luke 1:30–33
Mary learns she will give birth to Jesus — the Savior God promised! Jesus came to live on earth, and will return again. His life, death, resurrection, and rule over all things gives us HOPE!
Lesson 2: Joy – Luke 2:10
Celebrate the joyful news the angels shared on that first Christmas night. Jesus came to live on earth, and will return again. His life, death, resurrection, and rule over all things gives us JOY for today and eternity.
Lesson 3: Peace – Luke 2:14
Jesus brings peace to our hearts and our homes. Jesus came to live on earth, and will return again. His life, death, resurrection, and rule over all things gives us PEACE for today and eternity.
Lesson 4: Love – Matthew 2:10–11
Reflect on the love God showed through the gift of His Son — and how we can love others, too. His life, death, resurrection, and rule over all things shows us His love. We can love others because He first loved us.
Each lesson includes everything you need for a simple and fun Bible time:
- A short opening prayer
- A Bible verse to memorize
- A craft or hands-on worksheet
- A suggested song to sing together
- A review game or activity

You can use these Advent Bible lessons for toddlers however it works best for your family or class:
